Estimation of the cost of illegal fishing in West Africa

This study was conducted as part of the preparation for the World Bank’s West Africa Regional Fisheries Project. It had as its primary aim a focused case study on the economic impacts of illegal fishing activities in CSRP member states. The potential benefits from elimination of illegal fishing were investigated through case study fisheries in each country.

The findings, interpretations, and conclusions expressed in this paper are entirely those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the views of the World Bank Group, its Executive Directors, or the countries they represent.
